THE ASK
Acorns wanted a campaign that would stand out from the clutter and help them spread awareness and understanding of their product.
Acorns is an app available to everyone, no matter their financial background, standing or literacy.
THE INSIGHT
Financial literacy is difficult and seemingly impossible for many young adults. There is a fear of being overwhelmed and not knowing how or where to start. It's a huge subject to broach, with a very clinical and scholarly perception around it.
THE IDEA
Let's show in simple terms how Acorns works so that it is easily digestible for our audience. We'll demonstrate that no matter who you are, how much you know about investing, how old you are, or how much money you have, Acorns is for you. Acorns is only for everyone.
Campaign Components:
- Youtube animated hero video ad
- Various cutdowns of hero video to run on social - cuts will serve different purposes and will be for different audience
- Gamification of the Acorns Universe - the choice of game was selected to compare the ease of play to the ease of use [of the Acorns app] and accessibility
- Gamification paid social ads
- Prospecting will run to the game itself
- Retargeting will encourage users to sign up for the app and receive $5 toward their first investment
